2022 Winners of the Business Excellence Awards

The Mammoth Lakes Chamber of Commerce 6th Annual Business Excellence Awards Gala was held on Thursday, November 3, 2022, at Canyon Lodge. The Gala is the business community's event to honor the top-performing businesses and professionals in Mammoth Lakes. There was an overwhelming turnout from the business community, and this was the Chamber’s largest Gala to date. Thank you to all the event sponsors that helped make the event possible!

Allow us to introduce you to our 2022 Business Excellence Award Winners!

Green Business of the Year

The 2022 Green Business of the Year award went to a restaurant that has a nearly non-plastic business model. They use biodegradable bags and PHA straws which are biodegradable in any environment. All cups, lids, and containers are compostable and all cans and bottles are non-plastic and recycled regularly.

Non-Profit of the Year

Our 2022 Non-Profit of the Year award went to an organization of volunteers dedicated to supporting each other, Mammoth Hospital, its patients, and the community. Due to their efforts at the Cast Off, they have helped purchase nearly $5 million of lifesaving equipment for the hospital, awarded $647,000 in college scholarships and $145,650 in achievement awards to high school seniors.

Best Looking Business Front of the Year

This high-traffic location has been consistently allocating time and resources to ensure they have an inviting business front for all guests. Through the installation of multiple shade structures, a new exterior including signage, a stage for our Summer Music Series and mood lighting they have created one of the best spaces for summer libations!

New Business of the Year

The 2022 New Business of the Year award went to a local pizza establishment that set out with a goal to meet the wide variety of dietary needs and budgets in our community. They use simple, fresh ingredients, and offer vegan, gluten-free and organic options at reasonable prices. They are also proud sponsors of local youth sports and actively volunteer throughout our community.

Customer Service Person of the Year

"While working at Vons, this person will always ask you if you need help finding something. If the item is not out on the floor, he will go grab it from the back. He deserves this nomination because he intentionally goes out of his way to help customers." We were very proud to announce Lamont Peter as our 2022 Customer Service Person of the Year.

Young Professional of the Year

Our first-ever, Young Professional of the Year went to someone who has worked for MMSA since he was 14 years old! He’s made his jobs a tool of service and a way to give back for the opportunities this great nation has offered him. Following his parents' values and the mentors that have guided him, he strives to be a respectable Mammoth citizen that contributes to the betterment of our community.

Business Person of the Year

Congratulations to our Business Person of the Year who is a born and raised Mammoth Local, this individual values donating time and funding to local nonprofits, schools and land-conscious work as well as global issues like fighting hunger, and forest restoration.  Locally, her business is a certified green business that consistently fuels our community and our visitors through healthy food and fair trade coffee in a friendly atmosphere.
