Ways to Give: Pack Fire
Several local families have lost homes and livelihoods in the Pack Fire (Photo courtesy of Dan McDonnel). Our broader community is coming together to lift them up, and every contribution—big or small—helps make a meaningful difference.
While many forms of support are appreciated, cash donations are often the most effective way to help those in need, allowing families to receive direct, flexible assistance during an unpredictable time.
The Chamber’s nonprofit coalition is coordinating resources to support those affected and ensure help reaches where it’s needed most.
Your donation through the Mammoth Community Foundation (MCF) will go towards supporting individuals and families affected by the fire. MCF has matched the first $10,000 donated to the relief fund.
Please CLICK one of the ORANGE BUTTONS to contribute.
Donations to the Pack Fire Relief Fund, administered by the Mammoth Community Foundation, a 501 c (3) nonprofit organization, are tax-deductible to the extent permitted by law. These funds will be utilized for Community Housing needs for those affected by the Pack Fire.

DENTAL:
Emergency Dental Care for Pack Fire Relief – Dr. Christopher Comfort, DDS, MAGD, AAACD
In light of the devastating Pack Fire that has impacted our Mammoth Lakes community and displaced many local families, Dr. Christopher Comfort is committed to providing support by offering, at no charge, emergency-only dental care to those affected. We understand that dental emergencies can add unnecessary stress during an already overwhelming time, and our goal is to help alleviate that burden.
For the next 60 days, we will provide emergency dental treatment specifically for individuals experiencing pain, sensitivity, or other urgent dental concerns. To ensure care is focused on true emergencies, the definition and scope of emergency treatment will be determined by Dr. Comfort at the time of the visit. This initiative is not intended for routine or preventative dental care, but rather to address immediate needs so families have one less worry as they recover.
At Dr. Comfort’s office, we believe in standing with our community during times of crisis. If you or someone you know has been affected by the Pack Fire and is in need of emergency dental assistance, please reach out to our office. Together, we can help ease the hardship during this challenging period.

Since 2020, MCF has assisted in providing funds for disaster relief projects including a local food bank at the onset of COVID-19 and the Walker Fire Relief Fund.
In 2022 MCF, through its Economic Development efforts, entered into a strategic alliance with the Mammoth Festival of Beers and Bluesapalooza to serve as the Non-Profit organization that provides the ABC license for the event. MCF also provided local non-profits with the ability to earn revenue for their organizations. These non-profits assisted with the event through beverage pouring, parking management and crowd control. This partnership resulted in over $150,000 going back to local non-profits in our community.
Mammoth Community Foundation stands ready to support local community initiatives.
In 2018, the leadership of MCF elaborated its mission to include other economic impacts:
The purpose of the Mammoth Community Foundation is to promote, support and engage in activities and programs for Education, Leadership Development, Community Housing, Workforce Development and Economic Development.
